Baby shower's are always so much fun to plan, getting the entire family involved in the creative process and developing a theme that represents the mom-to-be creates such a fun level of excitement. Planning thoughtful events that represent the guest of honor will always be our favorite activity. In honor of the birth of our first nephew this week, this blog post is dedicated to the shower we threw for my sister-in-law earlier this summer!
We decided on a Build A Library themed shower. Everything from the invitations, food, drinks, dessert and centerpieces focused on family favorite children's storybooks. We had a great time reminiscing about our favorite childhood stories and included as many of the family favorites in the planning as we could.
For the invitation, we used a library style card, similar to the ones that were in library books when we were children. For the centerpieces, the theme was Peter Rabbit's garden. We worked with a local florist to come up with a design that was garden themed which included cabbage and other wild flowers.
By far, the biggest hit of the day was our "late night diapers" station where we asked each guest to write a silly note on a diaper to make the mom-to-be smile during late night diaper changes. We were so impressed by everyone's creativity!
